Let me help you learn what to expect, how to handle situations, and help you learn more about the wedding world.

I'm going to start off with some FAQ's - I get these questions the very most. Hopefully I've answered one of yours - if not, send me an email with your question - I'd be happy to answer it for you.

  1. What's your timeline for delivering photos, albums, DVDs, etc. after the wedding?

Within the first 2 weeks following your wedding, you'll see some wedding highlight images on the blog.

Within 2 months of your wedding, your photos will be online in a password protected gallery where you and your friends and family can view them.

After final approval of the album design, you can expect 8-12 weeks for delivery.

  2. How does the album ordering and design process work?

You pick your favorite photos for the album in your online gallery. Then I design the first album proof.

After any edits that you request, I make the desired changes and show you the final proof to make sure everything looks correct. Before submitting your final approval, make sure you show the proof to your new spouse, friends, family. Take a week looking at it if you have to. Once the final approval is received, no other changes can be made. After the final approval, I send the designs to the album company for manufacturing.

  3. How many photos will I receive from my wedding day?

It is impossible to give you a number. Wedding days come with many variables. In some instances, photographers are not allowed to photograph during ceremonies. Other weddings are only a couple of hours while some are all-day events.

In general, you can plan on around 50-80 images per hour. Usually you will get many more than that. Especially considering there are usually 2 photographers at your wedding.

  4. Do you photograph formal family portraits during weddings?

While my style is more documentary, I view formal family portraits as an important historic record. At the same time, I want your family and guests to enjoy your wedding, so I try handle these portraits in the most time efficient manner possible.

By receiving grouping lists from clients prior to the wedding and asking for a family member or two to be responsible for gathering everyone together, we are able to achieve this task.

  5. What is a second photographer?

A second photographer allows for more coverage of guests and different vantage points throughout the ceremony and reception. I work with 'seconds' who are professional and talented. Most often, my husband Ron will be assisting me as a second shooter. He knows exactly how I work and is able to compliment my photographic style by adding his own.

  6. Should I give you a list of poses and events I want covered during my wedding?

A list like that isn't necessary. I've photographed several weddings and know what to expect. You will most likely receive all of the shots you are hoping for, plus many more. If there are images that you place a high importance on having (say one of your aging grandmother with you), then yes – please tell me ahead of time! Please also remember, that my second shooter or myself will never be far from your side. Our goal is to tell the story of the day as you go through it. The emotions are mostly what we are looking for. We know when something big is going to happen. Open communication between you and I is the best way to insure that we get you the best images possible.

  7. Are you available for destination or travel for weddings and engagements?

Yep! I love these! New locations inspire me. Please contact me for your destination needs and I will be happy to create a custom quote for you.

  8. Will my guests and I be able to see the images from the wedding day online?

Absolutely! I will have a password protected gallery for you. You are free to share your password with whom ever you choose. If you signed the model release and checked 'yes' for sharing images on Facebook, then you will probably see them pop up there as well. Feel free to tag them and show them off. You know you look good!!

  9. I want to make sure we 'click.' Before booking any packages can we meet?

I completely agree! We want to make sure that we both want the same thing from your big day. If I have one idea and you have another, then we'll both end up unhappy. I highly encourage meeting you and your fiance in person. If that's not possible, we can do a phone call, or a Skype conference. I am also happy to offer a “Try Me” package. We will get together and shoot some engagement photos. No hard feelings if you just don't feel it. I completely understand. I want you to be 100% comfortable and happy on your wedding day.

  10. Do you require a deposit?

Yes, as do most photography professionals. This fee is used to permanently hold your wedding date. Your date is not secure if the both the fee and the contract are not in my possession. After you pay your fee, the remainder is due 15 days prior to the wedding. I am more than happy to work with you if you need to pay in installments after you make the initial deposit. If that means you need to make monthly payments or bi-monthly payments, I am willing to work with you.

  11. What if I want to take an item out of one of the packages? Will that lower the price?

I am happy to remove items from my packages to help fit within your budget. Just ask. We can add and subtract things to make sure you get exactly what you want, and nothing that you don't.
